Free "Atkinson Hyperlegible" font by the Braille Institute

I just found a post by Jason Kottke in my starred items in Reeder about a free font published by the Braille Institute called “Atkinson Hyperlegible”, designed specifically with high legibility in mind.

This is a really cool initiative and a great way to make a site easier to read for visually impaired persons, using unambiguous characters without having to resort to an excellent, modern mono-space font like Anonymous Pro.

You can read about the thoughts behind the font and the advantages in the summary PDF of the institute.

It’s available on Google fonts and I’ll be integrating it into my site tomorrow.
