I’m still on Instagram and while I try to ignore likes and follows as much as possible, it still confuses me how marketers seem to think that (auto-)liking one of my photos and following me will result in me following back. This whole influencer and brand engagement stuff is BS.

Bottom bracket fitted, brakes filled and bled. What remains is installing the crank and chain and setting up the shifters. With any luck I’ll be able to take the bike out for a spin in a few days. 📷 🚴🏻‍♂️

Just listened to #TeeVee episode 543 about Star Trek: Discovery S02E09 and when @jsnell said “Let the bodies hit the floor”, I had a vivid imagine of him sitting in his car, banging his head violently while listening to “Bodies” from Drowning Pool.

Just had the bottom bracket fitted, the brake lines attached, and the new brakes properly filled and bled by the nice folks of Fahrrad Heidemann in Trier. So nice of them to have done this on short notice today. I might finish the bike this weekend.

I made some mango-banana-orange smoothies just now and after filling two glasses I had some left. Gave it to Bijou, my dog, and unsurprisingly she loved it. She did seem surprised about the fuzzy feeling it left on her tongue, though.

I’m really looking forward to riding my first bicycle with thru axles soon. Everything about the fit of the wheels feels so much more precise with them.

Current state of the frame swap/bike rebuild. Next steps: 1) take possession of matching red bottom bracket and have it installed, 2) attach brake lines to the new flat mount brakes, 3) install crank and chain, 4) set up and tune shifting. 📷 🚴🏻‍♂️

Does anyone know of a good resource to learn about iOS Shortcuts? I’m trying to figure out how to automate certain tasks like backing up photos to a local server from my iPhone. Haven’t been able to find any good info about it.

Sunsets at sea never get old for me. Maybe it’s because I only get the chance to see them once or twice a year. 📷
