More cherry blossom prettiness from yesterday.
I keep my Apple Photos.app library very clean. Same as my SmugMug account, I treat it not like a catch-all but a curated photo book. A positive effect is that I frequently go through older photos and furthermore the automatically generated retrospectives are very enjoyable.
Almost done with a bottle of Glenfiddich Solera 15. I wasn’t impressed with it. It’s a solid whisky and smooth enough but it also felt a bit too watery and at the same time the flavour profile was unsophisticated. Too bad, I had hoped I’d finally find a Glennfiddich I like.
Whenever I post on Instagram and see the likes and (temporary) follows coming in, I’m reminded how much more real interactions on M.b feel, how the lack of a commercial aspect shapes this place. Also makes me curious what Pixelfed is going to turn into. I have hope.
After seeing @jen_we‘s post yesterday and a weather report forecasting heavy rain and winds, I took my camera with me on the afternoon walk with my dog to capture a few shots of cherry blossoms. I was not disappointed. 📷
The last part I needed to finish this bike rebuild has just arrived. Now I just need to clean the bike from yesterday‘s rather dusty ride and attach it. This new frame really is a beauty and rides so damn well.
I’m sitting here, getting some serious side eye from my dog because I haven’t yet shared a piece of apple with her.
That feeling of disappointment realising that yes, swapping the 46 for a 50-tooth chainring would be very cool, but you just rode 37 km and your current level of fitness didn’t allow you to comfortably sustain a 46-11 gearing for much more than a kilometre on a level road. 🤷🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️
Shimano recommends bedding in new brakes/brake pads as braking efficacy is reduce in the beginning. I expect that yesterday’s ride with 34 kg in tow and a descent of 1.5 km length, trying to keep speed below 15 km/h where I normally ride ~ 65 km/h will have done the trick.
