Bowers & Wilkins announced a new ear canal phones named “C5” today.

They sport a few interesting concepts, like a cable loop to keep the phones securely in your ears and a micro porous filter on the back of each unit to compensate for the lack of roominess and three-dimensional sound experience, found in almost all ear canal phones.

I like the design and would love to give them a try, but I’m skeptical as to whether the sound justifies a price tag of £150,- (around €170,- or 240,-) ifor earphones with dynamic drivers.
Great sounding, decent-looking balanced armature in ear monitors can be bought for that for that amount of money.
